This may be one of our winemaker’s favorite vintages and this Syrah is on her way to showing why this vintage is so special. As usual, the wine can use a bit of a breather when you first open it and will always benefit from decanting. On the nose, the savory, smoked meat aspect of the Boushey Vineyard appears surrounded by earthy red and black fruit and tea leaf.  Her presence on the palate is juicy with a full and expressive weight showing bursts of Italian plum, firm blackberry with hints of savory green herbs and olive tapenade. A lingering finish with a lift of acidity on the finish, the bottle is perfect to pop with triple crème and soft cheeses, slow-braised meats and Mari’s favorite, roasted mushroom risotto with pecorino and fresh herbs. Drink now through 2030.
