The first in our Mythology Series, The Fates are three weaving goddesses who assign individual destinies of mortals at birth. Like The Fates, the three varieties of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre weave a complex wine that will keep you returning to your glass. This wine is well rounded and offers some new-world fruit flavors with some old-world savory qualities. And as the fates would have it, these three varietals were meant to be together. The Grenache adds bright fruit character, the Mourvèdre adds tannins, earthy and savory notes, while the Syrah brings in structure and perfumed aromatics. Aromatically, the wine presents with raspberry fruit leather, fresh rosemary and hints of cigar box. Your first visit to the glass offers lifted floral notes, loads of bramble fruit and an undertone of smoked game meats. The liveliness on the palate is due to the fresh acidity and this wine is begging to be enjoyed with good friends and good food. This should not be limited to, but includes: any roasted meat, briny olive tapenade, a rich Bolognese or grilled vegetables.
